It answers a harder question than “will this win”: given what we think happens and what the bet pays, how much of a bankroll is this worth?
That’s why a heavy favourite we’re confident about can score below an underdog we’re unsure of. And every score assumes we’re slightly wrong before it’s calculated — if an edge only exists when our number is exactly right, we don’t have evidence of an edge.
Every recommendation carries the evidence behind it — named, weighted, and including the reasons that argue againstit. A confident number with nothing to check it against is just someone’s opinion in a nicer font.
You see what the market makes it, what we make it, and what the price needs — three figures on every card. So you can tell immediately whether a pick is us disagreeing with the market or simply the price being soft. They’re different bets with different risks.
The board never pads. If one night has four bets worth making, you get four. Every product that promises you ten a day is finding you ten a day, and the ones past the good ones cost you money.
When a price can’t be graded honestly, we say so in words. A dash or a zero would read as “fairly priced”, which is a different claim about a real bet — and the kind of small lie that makes everything else untrustworthy.
Most of this industry sells certainty. Here is what we can’t sell you, said now rather than buried in the terms.
A win rate.
We publish one when there’s enough settled history to mean something, and not before. A percentage drawn from a few dozen bets is noise wearing a number.
That we’re usually right.
We’re often wrong, in ways nobody can predict in advance. The bet is whether we’re right more often than the price requires — a much lower bar, and the only one that pays.
